'Seedlings' Exhibition
Waterworks Art Center
March - June 2010

Human kind appears to be at the crossroads. Face extinction or awaken and align to higher consciousness. The ‘Seedlings’ series is a brief glimpse into recognition of the evolving new paradigm of consciousness. They are intended as seeds for contemplation and to provide an inner shift of consciousness.

The seed is the gate to manifest reality. What is first recognized as a small inner vision or seed form could then be brought into existence within oneself and then to many. The works are presented as a flower, without utility and with an essence that awakens you for a moment. The paintings are intimate, intuitive, delicate, and yet strong. These are the very feminine qualities we will need as a global society to face the near future.

Many meanings are expressed in the works for me. They represent aligning the head and heart, the voyage of life, the connection between form and formlessness, essence and matter. They represent an awareness of the rising vertical energy within the body that leads to higher states of consciousness.

Indian miniatures, universal symbols, magic realism and of course organic nature have influenced the imagery of the paintings. They are created with a large range of media, which include acrylic, ink, watercolor, gouache, graphite and pastel on heavy cotton paper handmade in India.

It is my greatest hope that these intimate works would provide a means for contemplation moving toward higher consciousness and inspiring the recreation of ourselves.

Best wishes for all and many thanks to my family for their enduring support.

- “In our consciousness, there are many negative and also many positive seeds.
The practice is to avoid watering the negative seeds, and to identify and water the
positive seeds everyday.” -
